| Inverter Powers 5th Wheel Camping Trailer!I use a 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter as a 110v power source for a 5th wheel camping trailer. Although the trailer is wired for 50amp 220v service, it runs adequately on 110v. We run the normal entertainment devices: a microwave, and certainly not least, a small room window air conditioner (550watts). The inverter is mounted on the tow vehicle, as are 4 group 31 wet starting batteries, 16 group 24 gel cell deep cycle batteries, along with necessary 400 amp dc switching. To replenish, a 400 watt wind turbine, and 640 watts of solar panels (currently ground based, but will be mounted to the roof of the sleeper), and we can switch over to charge from the alternator. This rig and trailer are just play toys for the warm months! I don't have pictures of the inverter as mounted yet, but here are some pics of the rig. I'm just a few panels short of not paying a power bill when I retire :)
