Our young son has a life threatening food allergy that makes long distance car travel difficult. We have had to pack all the food in a cooler, keep changing the ice, and limiting our meal choices.
Since I purchased an Aims 1250 Power inverter in the Spring, it has made our life a lot easier. I installed it under the front seat of my conversion van and hooked it up to the vans battery using a 96 inch O-Ring inverter cable I bought with the inverter.
I bought a refrigerator and a small microwave for the van and now we can keep things fresh and stop for a hot meal (or hot coffee) anytime!
You should have seen his face when we stopped and had a Popsicle break on our recent 600 mile trip. Oh, and I forgot to mention that we have left the refrigerator on for several hours with the engine off without draining the battery. The unit has a great power meter so you know if your battery voltage drops but It's nice to know that if I forget to turn it off, the inverter will shut off so we can still start the van.
