| Inverter helps the neighborhood after Hurricane Katrina!I bought the AIMS 1250 Watt Power Inverter from Inverters R Us to use during the upcoming hurricane season. Living right outside of Baton Rouge, LA, I knew what the potential for a hurricane was and I’d seen the devastation and havoc that a strong storm could bring.
Hurricane Katrina missed us by 120 miles, but the effects were still strongly felt in my neighborhood. I went without power for 5 days. Or, maybe I should say “without power from the electric company.” I used my inverter powered by my truck to run my full sized refrigerator, computer, satellite, television, cell phone charger, and fans. It was awesome.
My next door neighbor bought a really expensive generator to power the same types of things in his home. When everyone found out how much he had paid, he went from big shot to bumbling idiot very quickly. Everyone was borrowing MY inverter because it was so quiet and easy to use. It ran everything from fish tanks to freezers. We literally had to put the inverter on a neighborhood schedule so everyone could keep their food cool.
I sent several people to InvertersRUs.com to order their “Hurricane Special” for the next power outage.
When the power finally came back on, I claimed success! I had gone nearly a week without power and all of those frozen crawfish tails were still frozen. My wife will be cooking a crawfish etoufee’ soon!
