| Mobile workshop user relies on 2500 watt inverter! I have the 2500 watt modified square wave inverter. My inverter powers my summer home in northern Maine and powers my mobile work shop where ever I go when I'm not at the summer home. We have no grid power at the summer home. I don’t know why everyone isn’t running off grid, it works that well. I have 16 Trojan 6 volt batteries, 8-50 watt PV solar panels and a Trace charge controller with an indoor monitor. This system runs 12 compact florescent lights inside and outside, one DC water pump for a shower and outdoor garden hose, one microwave oven, one crock pot on occasion, several power tools as needed, one TV/VCR, two radio’s, one satellite dish and a few other small appliances. When I am not at my summer home, my inverter is used in my work, every day, to run power equipment in my truck while the summer home just charges my batteries while I’m not there. What a country!!!!!
FYI, we cook with gas, heat with gas and wood, make hot water with gas and our fridge is gas.
