| RVer relies on his 1250 Watt inverter! My wife and I thought about an RV for several years. We've been married for over 20 years and the kids are finally out of the house, so we started to look in earnest. After going to a few shows and a dealer or two, we decided that what was on the market wasn't for us.
As aging hippies, we've always liked the idea of a bus conversion. The ability to have just what we want, created by us had tremendous appeal. After looking at used buses, we found the condition lacking and the amount of work to make the best of them road worthy to be prohibitive both in time and money.
To our surprise, just as we were about to give up on our dreams, a bus company held a raffle for the Children's Miracle Network, with the grand prize being a 27ft school bus in great shape. The tickets were $5.00 each with 6 for $25.00. It being a good cause, I bought 6 tickets and promptly forgot about them and the raffle. About 2 months later, I came home to an answering machine message to come and get my bus. The conclusion to this tale is that, after two months of work, we have the RV of our dreams.
We have all the comforts of home, including a very stable, consistent and "house like" source of 110volt power. We are using the exact model that is the prize for this contest, a Modified Sine Wave 1250 watt inverter. We use it to power lights, a small fridge, a TV/DVD and other small appliances (most important being the coffee maker). Right now, we are running only one battery, as most of our time is spent either with the engine running (driving down the road) or docked to shore power. We have plans to add a second battery and two 90 watt solar panels to increase our camping site selection. The Pacific Northwest (where we live) has great year around camping if you can get out of the rain. We particularly like the coast in the winter, fewer people and great storms.
It is a pleasure to have such a fine piece of equipment serving such an important function. Having a dependable source of house current makes the difference between roughing it and RVing in comfort and style. We would like to commend your company on a fine product and we will be using your services again as our needs change.
